The following, it appears, are now the
claimants of the Floridas--
The Cortes of Spain,
France, on behalf of King Joseph,
Great-Britain, who has guaranteed the
integrity of the Spanish possessions,
The Conventionalists of Florida - and
The United States of America.

A letter from Washington, says, that the
subject of debate in the House of Represen-
tatives with closed doors, is a bill reported
to the house by Montgomery, authorising
the President to take possession of the Flor-
idas. - This bill, involving the question of
peace or war with Great Britain, (as it is
said that Mr. Morier has declared that Eng-
land would take part with Spain) it was
thought most expedient to debate with clos-
ed doors. The discussion, was confined
exclusively to the democratic members; and
it was supposed will occupy several days
longer. - Ibid.
A Baltimore paper of the 7th, says
"our Washington correspondent believes:
that Gen Turreau has protested in behalf
of King Joseph, against our seizing Flor-
ida."
