For more than one hundred and fifty years we have been celebrating the birthday of the father of our country.
But this year the celebration will be more than usual, for today, February 22 marks the bicentennial anniversary of this great man's birth.
To fully appreciate the deeds of this renowned hero, we must pursue the records of his life. His winter at Valley Forge alone is a monument to his integrity and ability.
There are other things that we might mention that are fully as important, but one could not write in a book the full account of his hardships and the suffering of his men.
We must stop to realize that if it had not been for the loyalty of General Washington's men, that he could never have led them to victory in the fight for liberty.
