REV. U. O. BELLEROSE IS URGING THE IMPROVEMENT

Dials Would Be Six Feet in Diameter and Illuminated to Permit of Night Reading

Rev. U. O. Bellerose, pastor of St. Mary's church is planning to have a large new clock built into the base of the tower of the church, and he has reason to believe that his project will become a reality within a few weeks.

At the same time the present bell will be supplanted by a much larger one whose tones will carry farther.

Clock builders from Boston have been here to look at the structure and to estimate the cost of the talked-of improvement.

The plans call for a four face clock with a dial six feet in diameter and illuminated, so that the time can easily be read at night as well as in daylight, and at a considerable distance from the church.

It would be a public improvement a convenience for the people of the Providence street section as well as the entire city.
