Inquest Held
Over Negro

A coroner's jury investigating the
death of Isaiah Turner, 40-year-old
Negro, found dead in a ditch along
the Satterwhite road a few miles
north of the city on Sunday morn-
ing, found that the man came to his
death from causes unknown to the
jury, Coroner A. P. Paschall said to-
day. The coroner gave it as his
opinion and that of the jury that the
Negro, under influence of some in-
toxicant, may have fallen into the
ditch and drowned in the shallow
stream of water. The inquiry was
conducted Monday night.

Members of the jury were C. B.
Bowden, S. B. Hughes, L. B. Hope
Jr., Claude Mabry, Sam Reavis and
E. A. Wortham.
