It is looked upon that the Spanish Convention is the finest Hold that could be given to the Opposition, and will afford them the fairest Opportunity to exert their Strength and Abilities.

The present unexpected Concurrence of the Court of Madrid with our Demands seems, in the Opinion of many, more political than honest; and some even go so far as to say that their Intentions are hostile, though their Professions are peaceful.

France, it is said, absolutely refused to aid Spain at the present Time against Great Britain; and this, it is reported, occasioned the Orders for the Spanish Ambassador's signing.
