Both republican.

In Brunswick District, the candidates are Col. Thomas Claiborne and D. Richard Bland. In the county of Mecklenburg the latter, we hear, obtained a majority of upwards of 100; but in Lunenburg Col. Claiborne had so large a number of votes as to give him a majority three in those two counties: it therefore rests with the county of Brunswick, where no doubt great exertion will be made by the friends of each candidate, who are both residents of that county.
