Suffer From
Serious Flu

Dr. Langsam said today that numerous children in Nome, especially infants are suffering from flu which readily changes to a very serious type of pneumonia that does not respond to penicillin.

To protect the children, Dr. Langsam recommended:

(1) See that they are properly dressed even if outdoors for a short time only;

(2) Children must be changed into dry clothing as soon as they get wet;

(3) As soon as a child shows any sign of a cold such as running nose, sore throat, cough or fever, put the child to bed, and;

(4) If the child appears to get worse suddenly bring it to the doctor.
