REPORTED NAVAL BATTLE.

Captain Dexter, who arrived yesterday from Portland, on Sunday afternoon, off Seguin, heard from 50 to 60 guns fired, and saw the smoke, but not the vessels. The U. States brig Enterprise went out of Portland on Saturday, in consequence of ascertaining that the British brig Boxer was off. The same evening the Enterprise was seen off Seguin. At the time of the firing, the privateer E. Gerry. was in sight, but did not steer for where the firing was.

A gentleman from Salem, last evening informs, that a fishing boat arrived there yesterday, from the eastward, which saw an action off Seguin, between two brigs—that it continued 20 minutes—when one struck.
