COMMUNICATED.

I protest against the Ticket announced in the Gazette of to-day, as emanating from a meeting held on last Friday evening, called the "Anti-Know-Nothing Ticket."

The few office-holders and seekers that have been prominent in getting up this ticket will find, to their chagrin, that the voters of Alexandria will veto them.

This so-called Democratic party have made the issue direct, and it must be met.

That issue is "who shall rule Alexandria?"

Look at their ticket and see who's who, and what's what.

I am glad to hear that some of the gentlemen nominated will not allow their names to remain on the ticket.

The covering is too thin-the trick is exposed.

I, for one, will never submit to any such dictation by a mere handful of those who have presumed to speak for the Democratic party, and I think that a large portion of the Democrats will repudiate such an issue.
