REVELATIONS FROM DEITY.
Dowie Claims He is Close to God and Receives Directions.
The first apostle, John Alexander, declares he now receives revelations direct from God, instructing him as to the establishment of a new Zion City in Mexico and the conduct of affairs in his main Zion City in Illinois.
He asserts in a telegram to Overseer Speicher yesterday that as first apostle he now is in closer communication with God, by reason of which he receives direct messages and revelations telling him what to do and how to plan.
This new claim has been hinted at ever since he assumed his new office, but never was asserted positively until in recent telegrams he claimed that he received directions to expel from Zion City those who did not coincide with his views and for building his new city in Mexico. The telegram of yesterday was sent from Nassau, Bahama islands, to Overseer Speicher and directed the overseer to read to the people psalms 30, 1-5.
"These words," said Dowie, "are my expression on the death of our late beloved sister and brother. God has answered my prayers and yours and rested me until I am as strong as ever in my life.
"I begin my journey for the site of the new Zion in Mexico Tuesday. Our prayers have consoled the widow of the late Colonel Stern.
"I have received more clear revelations from God as to how the new Zion shall be built. Expect to sail for Vera Cruz Tuesday. Love."
