"Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, will be Victory Day for the United War Fund of North Carolina," announced Major L. P. McLendon, Greensboro, State Chairman of the United War Fund today. "The total goal for North Carolina, including the National War Fund quota and all local social agency appeals, is $3,425,000. At this meeting of the Board of Directors, Edward A. Conover, formerly of Washington, D. C., who has been employed as Community Organization Consultant by the United War Fund, will be presented. Mr. Conover's appointment is the direct result of the scores of requests that it has had from counties and communities desiring help in organizing Community Chests or Social Agencies, or in social planning.
