The Rahway, N.J. Advocate mentions the following singular circumstance: During the thunder shower, on Monday evening the 20th inst., the lightning struck the house of Christopher Stewart, in Metuchin and followed the chimney into the room occupied by the family. A boy about 14 years of age, sitting by the stove, had his shoes and stockings torn completely off by it, and what is most extraordinary, neither the boy nor any person in the room received any injury. The damage done to the house was trifling.
