JUNEAU (AP) -- The state's insured unemployment rate during the week ending Aug. 11 was 3.1 per cent, Labor Commissioner Gil Johnson said today.
The rate compared with 3.5 per cent during the previous week and 5.4 per cent during the same week a year ago.
Continuing unemployment was listed at 1,017, while new unemployment totaled 182.
The insured unemployment rate by area included Anchorage 3.1 per cent, Fairbanks 4.6, Juneau 1.8, Ketchikan 2.0, Nome 4.1, Petersburg 1.5, and Sitka 1.7.
