Last Sunday Morning about 4 o'Clock, a Fire broke out in a Barber's Shop in King Street, where it communicated itself to the House of Mr. James Stoodly, Innholder, and rag'd with such Fury, as in two Hours to consume it entirely, together with his Barn, and Out Houses, when it was stopt by the Activity of the Inhabitants. The Calmness of the Time only, prevented that Quarter of the Town being laid in Ruins, the Houses being chiefly Wood. Mr. Stoodly's Loss is great, and the generous and free Contribution, to make it as tolerable as the Nature of the Thing will admit, will undoubtedly be readily complied with by all who have the common Sentiments of Humanity and Pity for the Sufferings of their fellow Creatures; not to mention the Commands of Christianity, which strictly enjoins, to do as we would be done by in such Cases.

Wyseman Clagget, Esq; at the same Time met with a considerable Loss, having his House almost tore to Pieces, his Family broke up, his Papers and many other Things destroyed; and in order to compleat his Ruin, some notorious Thieves plunder'd him of great Part of what was saved from the Flames; his being the only Family, except Mr. Stoodly's, who suffered by the Disaster.

Notwithstanding the above Misfortune.
Mr. Stoodly is now commodiously Situated in a large House near the Ferry, where his Customers may be handsomely entertained.
