We wish to call to the attention of the school people of the state the contest on the Good Citizenship Pilgrimage which is being sponsored again this year by the Daughters of the American Revolution. This contest is open to girls who are senior students in each public high school of the state having a four year high school course.
Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism, are the four qualities upon which the selection for the outstanding citizenship girl of each school should be based. The state winner will be selected from those names submitted by the local schools and will be given a free trip to Washington together with the citizenship girls of other states. We wish to emphasize the importance of this contest as it is in line with one of the main purposes of education which is the development of good citizenship.
The final date for entry for all candidates must be submitted to the State Chairman, Mrs. Edd C. Brewer, Clarksdale, Mississippi, on or before December 15. Any additional information with reference to the contest and the Good Citizenship Pilgrimage may be obtained by writing to Mrs. Brewer at Clarksdale. It is our hope that every high school in this state will take an interest in this contest and submit a candidate for the state contest.
