The old scouts of the Territory tell of many daring deeds that she is the heroine of, and in telling about some of their battles with the Apaches, they finally wind up by saying, "Yes, and Molly's the 'man' who won the day, for she led the charge."
She was the pet of the scouts and always endeavoring to befriend those in sickness and want. We were informed by one who knew and had accompanied her on several scouts that she was a native of Ohio and possessed a good education, fell in love with a man by the name of Long who seduced and deserted her, she then took to the wilds of Arizona, where excitement, drink and gambling accomplished what the bullets, knives and arrows of the Indians failed to do.
