Why They—
(Continued from page one)

sons from the south who now live in the North and who now, like myself, feel rather guilty about missing out in the present campaign.

I have heard this repeatedly from my southern friends. Perhaps, if you have any literature for solicitation among one's friends, I could mail out a few and help them ease their consciences.

A pastor in Toledo, Ohio, has written that the NAACP is "an organization for which I have deep admiration" and "as an effectual vanguard these many years can show us much."

From Jamestown, N. Y. another man writes: "I consider it (1) an obligation, 2. a privilege and 3. a pleasure to belong to such a wonderful organization."

We are a small independent clothing store—a resident of Redlands, California, has written. "It just happened that I was not consulted about what color of skin I chose to have before I was born, and my Creator just happened to give me a white skin. But I want you to know that I carry my NAACP card proudly."

Every thinking, fair-minded American citizen should not only support you with a membership, but also with their constant support.
