"Generous entertainers and warm hearted Atlantans are joining in the fight against Polio in a big way," Mrs. P. Q. Yancey said yesterday as she made a progress report on the local Jack and Jill Chapter's project.
Five local musical aggregations have consented to volunteer their services to furnish dance music.
These groups are J. Neal Montgomery, Domineck and his Band, Austell Allen, the "Tamed" Cleveland Lyons' Quintet, Ralph Mays and possibly the Tokye Trio.
An equally imposing array of single acts and entertaining units will appear on the show headlined by Billy Wright and Zilla Mays.
These include Bobby Tuggle, Five Dikes, the Winstons, Mary Dell Palmer Ernestine Nash, Eunice the Body, Harold Shackleford Cecil Geer, the Shades, Bobby Brown, the Sycamores and the Royal Jesters featuring Carmen Labelle Roosevelt Johnson "Alley Pat" Patrick and Zenas "Daddy" Sears will handle EMCEE duties ably assisted by disc jockeys of the city.
As an organization of mothers whose national project is to aid the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, this charitable minded group has plotted plans for a gala dance on Friday evening, January 27 at the Wahaje, 10 p. m., to 2 a. m.
