(Special Dispatch to Daily Alaskan.)

Sioux Falls, S. D., June 25.-Mrs. Kauffman, who was indicted by the grand jury for killing a child whom she was beating when in a fit of passion, about a week ago, has been admitted to bail.

Never have the people been so excited as over this affair. The women of the city held an indignation meeting and they threatened to burn Mrs. Kaufman's home. The jail was threatened and it was thought for a time that object of the people's fury would be lynched.

The citizens are still very much excited and the police guard Mrs. Kaufman at home.
