From Richmond—At the last date (Oct. 10. 1807) it had been announced by the counsel on both sides, that the evidence on the trial of Mr. Burr was closed; and thereupon the argument on the motion for commitment was commenced (on the 8th) by Mr. Hay, who concluded his observations on the 9th: when he was followed by Mr. Randolph. The object of the commitment is to secure Col. Burr for trial at the place in which the evidence of his treasonable practices could be proved. It was expected that the argument would be ingeniously maintained, and great attention was excited on the occasion.

The noted Comfort Tyler, the friend of Burr, came passenger in the schooner John and James from New Orleans—under arrest.
