To Paris Race
PARIS, July 9.--The proposed Paris-New York nonstop airplane flight will start in August or September, according to announcement today.
The proposed flight will be for a prize of $25,000, offered some time ago by Raymond Orteig, proprietor of the Brevoort and LaFayette hotels in New York, through the Aero Club of America.
Paul Tarascon and Francis Coli, French flyers announced recently they would compete for the prize.
They have been preparing a special hydro-plane with a 500 horse-power engine which it is claimed will stand the severe test imposed by the trans-oceanic voyage which would be direct from Paris to Newfoundland and New York.
The flyers both have brilliant war records.
