BOSTON.
An old Veteran in the cause of American liberty, at present an inhabitant of Muscongus Island, at the Eastward, but a native of these parts, writes to his friend in Marblehead, in a letter of December 12, as follows:
"As the prints inform me of the Governor and Judges being independent, I think I shall appear once more in public action. I am in the 62d year of my age; and am so roused by the news that I am ready on the first alarm, to quit wife, children, &c. and boldly attack any and every villain that dare oppose that liberty which God, and the blood of my forefathers have given me. As in times past I left all, to cut my way through the forces of France and Spain, will, though now old, fly with double fury against such miscreants as invade my liberty, and leap through hosts, though assured of dying in battle, and if possible, after my death, my ghost shall pursue their mean deeds to the day of judgment. My request to you is, to stand firm for your liberty, which is the greatest fortune you can ever bestow on your children."
