A SPECIAL DELEGATE.

The Chamber of Commerce Elects One.

A special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon. A short time ago Major Jones was chosen to represent the harbor and other interests of this section before the committees of Congress where Representative Vandever cannot, according to the rules of that body, be admitted to speak. It was the intention of the Major to leave this week. A short time ago, however, he had a severe attack of the grip and is only now recovering. He reported yesterday that it would be quite impossible for him to go. The board proceeded yesterday afternoon to the choice of a substitute, and H. Z. Osborne was selected.
