Mrs. Janet Kent, above, admitted being the mysterious "Minnie Peyser" to whom $3,120 was paid from the savings account of Mrs. Katie Weber. Relatives of Mrs. Weber have charged Frank J. Egan, former San Francisco public defender, with looting her estate of $8,000, and claimed that the "Minnie Peyser" angle was a part of the deal. The check which "Miss Peyser" used to draw money from the Weber bank account, and a sample of Mrs. Kent's handwriting, through which her identity was traced, are depicted above.
