Last Monday two companies of the first battalion of the Royal regiment of artillery embarked on board the transports, and fell down to the Watering Place, on their way to Chatham barracks. They were commanded by Lieutenant Colonel James, the other officers were Capt. Stanhope, Lieutenants Houghton, Dysart, Douglas, and Cleveland: the Colonel's Lady and niece, with Dr. Fontenelle, and Lieutenant Campbell of the engineers, went passengers. The affability and very agreeable deportment of the officers, and the excellent discipline and decorum of the men, during their long residence in this garrison, eminently recommended them to the urbanity and most friendly attention of all the inhabitants.
