INDIAN MURDER.—A telegraphic despatch from Whitewater states that a man named Boyington, just arrived from Strong's Landing, reports that Mr. Henry Myers and Mr. Irvin, of Southport, are supposed to have been killed by the Indians, west of the Wisconsin river, last week. Myers and Irvin left Strong's Landing early last Friday morning, on a hunting excursion, intending to return by noon of the same day; but up to Saturday noon had not been heard from. As it was known that some enmity existed between them and the Indians, it is feared that they have been murdered. Nearly 100 men started out in search of the missing hunters last Saturday. As there is a perfect wilderness for 25 miles around, there is no possibility of their having found shelter in any house. The night of Friday was very cold. Such is the substance of the telegraph story. We hope to hear that Messrs. Myers and Irvin only lost their way, and not their lives.—Milwaukee Sentinel, Dec. 29.
