Chicago, Oct. 18. - Problems of the mining industry, especially as applied to the mining of coal, headed the topics for consideration today, the second of the twenty-fourth annual convention of the American Mining Congress.

Edwin Ludlow, president of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical engineers was to speak on "coal and labor," while J. D. A. Morrow, vice president of the National Coal association, was scheduled to talk on "Co-operative Effort in the Coal Industry."
