Full Text

The Rush For Washoe.—Every day parties are being fitted out at San Francisco and Sacramento for Washoe. A gentleman of Sacramento, who has just returned from Carson Valley, informs the Standard that the rush of people is almost as great as during the Fraser river excitement: provisions are scarce, and, of course, very high in price. Town lots in Carson City are selling at enormous prices, ranging as high as $75 and $100 per front foot on the main street. It will be several months before any large supply of provisions or goods of any kind can be conveyed to that place or distributed throughout the mines. It is believed there are more people there now than make a living at this season of the year
