Full Text

One evening a few weeks since, Mr. Jefferson's overseer, carried to the nearest market town, 100 bbls. flour, which he sold to a merchant of that place, for the current price, and having received his money made off. The next morning, just as the purchaser was about to put his flour on board a sloop, comes Mr. Gallatin's Circular slap upon him, and stops his flour in transitu. He was of course obliged to store it till the embargo is taken off, three years or longer, and pocket the loss.
