Fire discovered in forward compartments of steamship Bedford, extinguished after hours of water from tugs. Fire rages in hold of steamship Barrowdale despite scuttling and water; Travancore slightly injured and pumped out. Surveyors ordered discharge of cargoes from damaged steamers to assess full damage.
