Full Text

LEGORN, [Italy] July 17. The affair between the King of Sardinia and the republic of Venice grows daily more serious. His Sardinian Majesty has not only recalled his Ambassador from the republic, but has likewise given notice to the Marquis de Aigueblanche, the Venetian Ambassador, to leave Turin directly, as hostilities will soon be commenced between Sardinia and Venice. No one pretends to know the real ground of this dispute, but it seems at this time the most trifling affair is sufficient for beginning a war against a free state in order to rob the people of their liberty.
