Full Text
We had here last Friday a most violent hail-storm, succeeded by thunder and lightning, and a prodigious quantity of rain, which has thrown down and washed away several houses, and damaged many churches. The pavement of this city is entirely destroyed: many large trees in the neighbourhood have been torn up by the roots; and the corn and other productions of the earth are irrecoverably lost. A shock of an EARTHQUAKE was felt at the same time, but the noise was confounded by the wind, which blew most impetuously.
