WOMEN HIKE Across Country to Submit Huge Petition to Maryland Legislature.

(BY ASSOCIATED PRESS)

BALTIMORE; Jan. 6.-Bearing a huge petition requesting the legislature to pass a bill providing for the submission of the woman's suffrage question to the voters, about a score of women started on a twenty-eight mile hike to Annapolis this morning.

Two days will be consumed in the march, it being the purpose of the pilgrims to hold meetings at several places on the way. Most of the marchers are active leaders in the equal suffrage movement in this state among them being Mrs. Donald F. Hooker, president of the Just Government League, of Maryland.
