Mahoning County.—We regret that, owing to a press of matter, we cannot find room for the excellent article in the New Lisbon Patriot, relating to the recent election in the proposed new county of Mahoning. We must content ourselves with the announcement of the triumph of the county ticket pledged against levying a tax for the erection of county buildings, by EIGHT HUNDRED MAJORITY! Thus has this unjust and oppressive law been hurled back into the teeth of the venal and despotic majority that endeavored to force it upon the people, regardless of their solemn remonstrances. It is not the only measure of its corrupt authors, destined to receive the burning impress of popular condemnation.—O. Statesman.
