State Board of Health Finds Fault With Certain Physicians Registered.
The state board of health held a meeting yesterday.
Those in attendance were: T. E. Raines, M. D., president, Concordia; P. D. St. John, M. D., Wichita; H. M. Ochiltree, M. D., Haddam; C. F. Meninger, M. D., Topeka; E. B. Parker, M. D. Osage City; E. M. Hoover, M. D., Halstead; J. P. H. Dykes, M. D, Stafford, and S. Laning, M. D., Kingman.
Discussion was raised by a resolution that was introduced. It was as follows:
"Moved, that the secretary of this board be instructed to erase from the new registration list the names of those who are not legally qualified practitioners of medicine, even though they be registered in the county in which they reside; and that special attention is hereby made to the so-called graduates of the 'Illinois Health university and the Wisconsin Eclectic college' of Chicago, for the reason that neither of them are recognized by the Illinois state board of health as reputable schools of medicine, and, we, the Kansas board of health, unanimously indorse their action and decide against the recognizing of these so-called graduates of these institutions as legal practitioners of medicine in Kansas."
Dr. Johnson of Chase county, who is a member-elect of the legislature, made a short address on some of the needed legislation of this state. The board will today go to North Topeka and make an inspection of the sanitary condition there.
