Peace, Union and Prosperity.
Can any good citizen be so blind as not to perceive that the peace and quiet of this country-the permanence of the Union- the preservation of the good will and fraternal feeling of the people of the several States depend on the triumph of the Democracy. Let the other party succeed and the next two years of our Republic will involve its greatest crisis. The firebrands of strife, contention and civil war will be scattered through the land. The North and South will be arrayed in deadly and irreconcilable hate. The Union, if it survive the shock, will be one of form- the spirit, reality and brotherhood, which are its chief. benefits and objects, will have departed forever.
The Country was never more prosperous than, it is now. Every section of the Union has shared the benefits of our happy form of Government. Prosperity and plenty reign in the land. These are the effects of the democratic policy. Do you wish to change the condition of the country by changing the policy by which it has been so long governed ?
Do you desire to substitute trouble, turmoil, war and angry contention, for peace, progress, happiness and concord? If you do, then give your vote, your influence and support to the so-called Republican ticket.-Enquirer.
