Last Sunday Morning one William Richardson, a Shoemaker, who lives over against the Goat Alehouse in Short's Gardens in Drury-lane, went out with his Son to pick Mushrooms, but unfortunately gather'd those of a poisonous Kind, which his Family soon discover'd after eating them, by their being suddenly taken Sick, on which they threw what they had left to the Dog and Cat; the Dog soon discover'd Symptoms of Madness by foaming at the Mouth, &c. The Cat died a few Minutes after on the Spot. In this great Consternation they had Recourse to Geneva, which heartily purg'd and vomited them, by which Means they are all now most happily recover'd; so that Bungeing their Eyes (the Cant Word for drinking Gin) was the Cause of saving their Lives.

After eating, the family became sick, threw leftovers to the dog and cat; the dog foamed at the mouth, the cat died immediately. They drank Geneva (gin), which purged and vomited them, leading to recovery.
