Malicious Attempt Made to Injure Man While Driving on Tuscarora.
While driving into town on Monday night, after taking his sister home Mr. Lee Raney, who lives at the home of Mr. Samuel Sellers on the Williamsport pike, was halted by two men in a stick wagon. Mr. Raney was near Kilmer's hill and noticing the character of the men whipped up his horse and drove on. Hearing something behind him he turned and found that one of the men had cut the curtain out of the back of his buggy and was trying to climb on. Mr. Raney again applied the whip and as he was driving a colt it started to kick, and smashed the dash board. Finding that their man had gotten away the assailants fired several shots but none took effect.
