NEWMAN GUEST AT STATE DINNER FOR VISITING ROYALTY

Washington, D. C. - Cecil E. Newman, publisher of the Minneapolis Spokesman and St. Paul Recorder was among the guests in Washington at the State dinner for the Shah of Iran (Persia) and his Empress Friday night at the State Department.

The affair was one of the red carpeted diplomatic functions for Mohammed Reza Pahlayi and his Empress which began Wednesday when the Persian royal couple arrived in Washington in President Kennedy's plane for a three day visit.

Secretary of State Dean Rusk was host to the Friday night dinner, attended by the President, cabinet members, members of the diplomatic corps, members of Congress and prominent citizens from throughout the U.S.A.
