Full Text

The crops in Kansas are huge. The estimate of the yield of corn this year is 250,000,000 bushels, and the wheat is extraordinary. Still the farmers are feeling that they are oppressed, and the Alliances are yet rampant. One trouble is, the Alliance and the Democrats cannot fuse very well. Each crowd wishes to capture the other. The Alliances are becoming Anarchists. A Topeka correspondent of the Times speaks of the intensity of the egotistic ignorance of the anarchical Alliance people. There are hundreds of lectures yelling all the time in Kansas, and not a man of them has been educated, except to labor at farming or mechanical tasks, which is very well, but not the whole of education for the comprehension of large affairs.
