"When you cease to think, you cease growing," declared Dr. W. S. Dacrons, director of Evangelism for the AME Zion church and acting pastor of St. Ruth's AME Zion church, 1817 High st., in delivering the keynote address in an All-Zion Mass meeting at St. Paul's AME Zion church, 12th and Spring streets. Sunday. The meeting was the launching of the $8,000 drive for the building fund of St. Ruth's church, sponsored by a campaign committee whose chairman is the Rev. T. G. "This is a new day and this crowd here today marks a new day for Zion Methodism in Little Rock," the speaker continued. "Every Zion church is represented here today and all our pastors, including the presiding elder, are present. We are working together for a common cause and we are enlisting our friends in the community to help us."
The kick-off dinner for the campaign was held Wednesday night at St. Paul's church and four teams of workers were given their kits and final instruction for an intensive campaign to conclude January 29th, to raise a basic fund for the building of a new church, on behalf of a small congregation, forced to relocate by the Dunbar community project coming to its former area.
