[A Dublin paper of the 5th of March last, gives the following little story. The conduct of the man we are here told of, may be contrasted with that of the Englishman who purchased a lottery ticket for the girl he professed to love, and afterwards refused to surrender the prize which it drew.]

A servant woman in this city [Dublin] has, within these few days, come into possession of a most ample fortune. It is upwards of twenty years since a young man who paid his addresses to her, and was refused, entered into the military service of the East-India Company: he had never since been heard of, until about a month ago, when she received information from a respectable law agent in London, that her lover died about eleven months since in one of the Company's settlements, where he had, for the last fifteen years held a civil employment, and that he had bequeathed to the former object of his affections, if living, the entire sum of twenty-five thousand pounds. The fortunate damsel left her master's house a few days since, and sailed for Holyhead, on her way to London.
