The slave-holding power seems to think itself so sure of Kansas and Nebraska, as to begin to indicate an appetite for more conquests, Texas-ward. The New Orleans Courier--the leading Democratic paper of Louisiana--coolly reveals the fact, in some learned discussions upon the convulsions of Mexico, that it is the ultimate design of Slave-holders at the South, To ADD Mexico to their sway. Nothing else will enable them to long maintain their power over the growing numbers and increasing strength of the Freemen of the North, East, and West.

Reader! you have seen Slavery add to itself Louisiana, Missouri, Florida, and Texas--all Slave holding--but you never saw her allow a foot of Free Soil to be added to our domains, except when California very unexpectedly came in with a Free State Constitution. Slavery raged and foamed at that, and threatened to dissolve the Union, with various other alarming things: but OLD Zack and HARRY CLAY were not to be scared, and California came in free, as Kansas should. By fraud, falsehood, and bloodshed, backed by Executive power, they think they have Kansas and Nebraska secure; and away down there is an intimation, not intended to be circulated at the North, that by next Fall's election, Slavery will (under the name of 'Democracy,' 'Americans,' or some other favorite title) be laying plans for annexing the whole of Mexico, with its eight or ten millions of amalgamated races of ignorant Romanists. Slavery is never satisfied, and give it Kansas it will next claim Mexico, Cuba, or some other land to extend Slavery over.
