In the month of January, an infectious and epidemic fever was raging among the poor in Manchester. Some communications on this occasion, published in the English papers, confirm the principles of the faculty in America, relative to the yellow fever. The putrid fever in Manchester is ascribed to the same causes, as similar fevers here, for it is found to prevail in the same situations, the low, dirty, unventilated cellars, and filthy places. The same preventatives are prescribed there with effect which are recommended by the faculty here.
