Extract of a letter from Vienna, dated Feb. 21.
"They write from Transylvania, that the gentlemen and proprietors of the land, having nothing to fear from the rebels, are returning one after another to their estates. A third chief of these rebels has been apprehended, whose name is Krichan Gyog. Horiah is to be carried through the principal towns of the Hereditary states, and receive 50 blows with a baton in each. After this, he is to be condemned to work among the felons on the Danube. Every year, on the anniversary of his rebellion, and of his imprisonment, he is to receive the bastinade. In the several skirmishes which our troops have had with the rebels, we have killed, one Lieutenant-Colonel, one Cornet, one Quarter-master, and 25 soldiers: the wounded amount to about 37. The loss on the rebels side is 15,000 killed. We have counted more than 200 gentlemen who were massacred by them."
