The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (old school) will convene to-day at Baltimore at the First Presbyterian Church.— The sessions are to be opened with a sermon by Dr. Thornwell of Columbia, S. C., the Moderator of the last Assembly, agreeably to standing rule of that body. The case of Dr. Skinner, late pastor of the Church in Lexington, Va., who has got into an unpleasant controversy with his people, which they were unable to settle before the lower judicatories, is the most exciting question before the sessions,
