THE VIRGINIA CITY ELECTION.

The municipal election in Virginia City resulted in the choice of a mixed ticket. Stephens, Republican, was elected Mayor by 226 majority; Brown, Democrat, Chief of Police, by 269 majority; Mahanny, Democrat, City Tax Collector, by 271 majority; Smith, Republican, City Assessor, by 52 majority; Mitchell, Democrat, City Attorney, by 453 majority over Tilden, Republican, and 1,205 majority over Graham, the bolting candidate; and Fredericks, Republican, was elected City Treasurer by 227 majority. For Aldermen, Coyne, Democrat, received 109 majority; McCardy, Republican, 58 majority; Hunter, Republican, 5 majority; and Barclay, Republican, 67 majority.
