Unprecedented Spoliation.

We learn from Salem, that by the arrival there of a barque from St. Eustatia, information has been received that the new Ship Eliza, Capt. Hodges, owned by Mr. JOSEPH WHITE, of and from Salem, bound to Canton, in China, with fair and perfect papers, and laden with a small quantity of lumber, and above 40,000 dollars in cash, has been captured by a French corvette in lat. of the Cape de Verd Islands, and sent for St. Domingo for trial. This is the most alarming capture we have heard of.
