Full Text

The Canada papers find a deal of fault with the measures of our government! What a pity the administration cannot shape their course so as to give better satisfaction to our British neighbors. It is funny, however, to observe with what eagerness the Journal, and other federal papers, spread these John Bullisms before their readers. Those who got up the political meeting in this city yesterday, acted with their usual cunning.—Not a word was said about it, until after the adjournment of the General Assembly. Had this measure been adopted while that body was in session, it would have been met by the voice of the people of the state, (not of the city of Providence,) in a manner not quite to the liking of the opposition party.
