Nineteen Greater Boston residents have been appointed to the staff of the Harvard Medical School. Of these eleven will be engaged in teaching and eight will participate in research.
In addition to its own laboratories, clinical teaching and investigation is carried on in a group of hospitals which are affiliated with the Harvard Medical School.
Under the supervision of staff members, students have the opportunity to secure organized clinical experience and first hand knowledge of disease.
Cambridge residents appointed are:
Dr. Mary D. Albert of 15 Maple Ave. Research Fellow in Medicine. She is affiliated with the Huntington Laboratories of the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Albert received the Ph.D. (1955) from Brown University.
Dr. Howard J. Bagnall of 39 Walker St. Research Fellow in Surgery. Dr. Bagnall is affiliated with the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a native of Birmingham, England and received the F.R.C.S (1953) from the Royal College of England.
Dr. Wilfred Bloomberg of 16 Farrar St. Lecturer on Psychiatry. Dr. Bloomberg is affiliated with the Boston Veteran's Administration Hospital. He received the M. D. (1928) from Harvard.
Dr. Rudolf Kurzmann of 799 Concord Ave. Instructor in Medicine. Dr. Kurzmann received the M. D. (1921) from Vienna Medical School.
Dr. Clara B. Shoemaker of 258 Harvard St. Assistant in Biological Chemistry. Dr. Shoemaker received the Ph.D. (1950) from the University of Amsterdam.
